Daughters of Glorious Jesus

Daughters Of Glorious Jesus began in 1987 as part of the choir of Resurrection Power and Living Bread Ministries at that time led by the Rev. Akwasi Amoako.

Behind time, when Bishop Akwasi Asare Bediako, saw they are in making, he inspired them to form a group in 1989. The group constitutes 3 female artists: Cynthia Appiadu, Edna Sarpong and Monica Owusu Ansah. They sing in both twi (Ghanaian Language) and English

They got on to minister through songs at various church crusades and conventions.

The Daughters of Glorious Jesus gave off their First album entitled “Anwanwa Din” in 1990, which got them popular throughout Ghana.

As of 2019 which celebrated its 30th Anniversary in the Ghanaian music industry, it had brought out 12 albums.
In 1992, they won the Entertainment and Critics Association of Ghana (ECRAG) award for Best Gospel Group with their album entitled ‘Mebo Yesu Din Daa’ which they released in 1991

They dug in with a remix of their first album, ‘Anwanwa Din’ and released another album in 1994 ‘Mesom Awurade Daa’. This album got Appiadu to win the award for the  Best Female Vocalist Award in 1996.

Daughters Of Glorious Jesus 1996 released albums entitled ‘Asomdwe Hene, and ‘Ngyae Mpae Bo Da’, which featured Sarpong as the lead vocalist.

In 2003, the evergreen Daughters of Glorious Jesus released their most successful album; ‘Aseda’ which had all eight tracks on it enjoying massive airplay.

The album got the group a ceremony in Accra the Our Music Award (OMA) for 2003. In 2004 ‘Aseda’ took five Awards at the Ghana Music Awards, considered as awards to have been swept by a Gospel Artiste on one Our Music Award (OMA) night.

It was also the first time a gospel artiste was picking any of the three topmost awards.

The Daughters of Glorious Jesus with ‘Aseda’,  took two awards at the 2004 Ghana Gospel Music Awards.

They won the Best Gospel Video Award at the 2010 4syte Music Video Awards with the video for ‘Bebre’.
